Islamic cleric counsels Oyetola at Dynamic Reformers Group's prayer sessions for governor

An Islamic cleric, Imam Ayatullah Kabir Adepoju, has advised Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola to be wary of political sycophants from infiltrating and hijacking his administration as their interest is mere self-seeking.

Ayatullah made this appeal in his ministration during an interdenominational prayers session organised for the Supreme Court victory of Governor Oyetola by Dynamic Reformers Group, a subset of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Osun State, in Osogbo on Thursday.

The event which featured both Islamic and Christian clerics that took place at the State Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Osogbo, was held with fanfare.

Ayatullah stated that he was eminently qualified to speak on the infiltration of sycophants in government as an active participant in the protracted struggle that preceded the enthronement of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola's administration.

The Islamic cleric recalled that it was appalling, surpring and nauseating that it was not those who worked for the Aregbesola government that were rewarded but complete strangers who were merely waiting in the wing during the political struggle.

Ayatullah stated that these political opportunists could go to any length by using juju or destruction of fellow politicians in order to achieve their aim before any governor in place.

He said, it was important to advise and caution Govenor Oyetola not to fall into the trap of these disgruntled politicians who masquerade as vital aides who are now surrounding the governor.

His words: "I am not very happy that the governor is not seated here today. Those who will report what I am saying here today should not add or subtract from what I am saying.

"The reward system under the last progressive government in the state was faulty as it failed to adequately reward members of the party who put in their all for its enthronement. This is the auspicious time for Governor Oyetola to correct the monumental mistake".

Pastor Joshua Tope Omotayo of Christ Apostolic Church, Mount of Solution, Egbedi, Egbedore Local Government Council Area of the state, urged the government of Oyetola to continue to prioritise people-oriented programmes in the interest of the people of the state.

Alhaji Remi Adegoke who brought the goodwill message of the governor hinted that it was the exigency of activities that took the governor to Lagos that prevented him from attending the occasion.

Adegoke stated that the governor was at ease with all what the group stands for, adding that the governor has promised to do all necessary things to assist the group to realise its set goal at auspicious time.

Mr Kola Olabisi, the Media Consultant to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in

the state, Prince Gboyega Famodun, disclosed on the occasion that the APC state boss who was unavoidably absent has promised to fill the missing gap soonest.

Olabisi added that the party chairman has promised to add value to the group in not long a time.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of the Dynamic Reformers Group, Mr Duro Olaleke, reiterated the resolve of the group to key in into the vision of Governor Oyetola.

Olaleke stated that the members of the group who had made their marks in their various chosen professional callings were always available to contribute their quota towards the advancement of the state.

In the chairman's words: "Our group believes in the efficacy of prayers. This is the reason we decided to pray for the victory of Governor Oyetola at the  Supreme Court during the election tribunal saga. We are also praying for God's guidance for the governor's administration".

He disclosed that the group which has been in existence for over one decade would always be at the bell and call of the government in its genuine efforts to make life more abundant for the people of the state.

Among the dignitaries on the occasion are the Director-General of Oranmiyan Worldwide, Alhaji Sawdiq who led a powerful team of his group to the event; Bashorun Lawal; Princess Hero Phillips; Prince Sunny Ajayi; Mr Gbenga Ojo; Alhaji Saheed Alawode, a chieftain of 5-C Group from Kobongbogboe area of Osogbo; Chief Gboyega Fadaunsi; Mrs(Princess) Esther of La Cafe; Mr Femi Mode Shiyanbola,Mr Akinnola Akinjide of Oosa Motors and Mr George, an APC chieftain from Odo-Otin local government council area of the state.
