Man Bags 3 Years Imprisonment Over Theft In Osun

An Ile-Ife Magistrate Court in Osun on Tuesday, sentenced one Bukola Adebayo, 20, to three years imprisonment with hard labour for conspiracy, break-in, entering some apartments illegally and theft of goods worth N97,600.
The court jailed  Adebayo after he had pleaded guilty to a six-count charge.
Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi convicted him with an option of N20,000 fine on each of the charges, saying that the defendant was found guilty upon the facts presented by the prosecution.
The prosecutor, Insp.  Sunday Osanyintuyi, during proceedings, had told the court that the defendant committed the first set of offences between July 15 and  July 16, 2019, around 9:30 p.m.,  at Mokuro Road, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the defendant then entered into the shop of one Ronke Odewande with intent to commit felony therein.
He added that the defendant stole one pack of ‘Bigi’ cola, four pieces of malt, three pieces of condom, one green lamp and a small lamp battery, valued at N4,700, a property of one Ronke Odewande.
According to him, between 7:00 p.m.,  of July 24 and 6:00 a.m. of July 25, 2019, at Ojaja area, Ile-Ife, the defendant also entered into the workshop of one Tajudeen Lawal and stole one welding machine, worth  N80,000.
The prosecutor also stated that the defendant broke and entered into the shop of one Bunmi Adekunle and stole assorted wine and cigarette, worth  N12,900.
Osanyintuyi explained that the offences contravened Sections 383, 390(9), 411 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
