You are lazy, not creative - Group slams Senator Ademola Adeleke over campaign slogan

A  socio-political organisation in Osun State  "Imole Osun" has berated the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District,  and one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ademola Adekeke,  over his choice of campaign slogan, also known as  “Imole Osun”,

The group,  in a press statement signed by its  Director General,  Mr Akin Aderibigbe and made available to our Correspondent  on Friday carpeted Adeleke for using it's identity that is legally backed and has been in existence for over three years.

Aderibigbe maintained that the  action of the Senator "is criminal in nature and  reflects laziness and paucity of creativity on his part",  adding that such tendency is  unbecoming of a lawmaker who is aspiring to govern the state.

He opined that governance is about creativity and deep thinking,  saying the action of the lawmaker suggests lack of requisite mental strength to govern a state as complex as Osun State.

According to him, any politician that worth his salt must be creative enough to come up with a slogan that is in tandem with his political philosophy and socio-economic idea as blue print for governance.

“We were taken aback by Senator Ademola Adekeke’s display of emptiness,  we didn’t expect him to have descended so low to the level of snatching the name of our organisation as his campaign slogan.

“We were disappointed by his action,  and doubt his strength and intellectual ability to govern the state if he could display this level of intellectual laziness by snatching a name of an organisation instead of thinking of distinct slogan that reflects his political philosophy,  if he has any.

"The philosophy behind  the organisation is to enlighten and educate the Osun populace on positive political culture that tends towards governance with human face and speedy development.

"The group remains the brainchild of a visionary leader and astute administrator,  Otunba Yemisi Adedeji, who is presently a leading gubernatorial  aspirant on the platform of Social Democratic Party(SDP).

“ Imole Osun is a registered organisation by Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)  under the Company and Allied Act,  with registration number: "RC1495603". It has been in existence even before the unfortunate circumstance that made him a senator,  so,  we wonder why he is calling himself Imole Osun now.

“We are convinced that one of the qualities a leader must display to get people’s trust and confidence is creativity,  Senator Adekeke has not displayed any act of creativity on this, he needs to go back to his drawing board and come up with a slogan that is in line with his political idea and ideology.

"We are hereby giving him the grace of seven days to drop the slogan or face a legal action of impersonation ", Aderibigbe said.

Daily Post recalls that Adekeke,  who recently  joined the league of aspirants for the September 22 gubernatorial election in the state  under the banner of PDP made his intention known to the party in the second week of April,   with “Imole Osun” as slogan.
