Boy found, 5 days after going missing at prayer camp

Police in Osun have discovered the eight-year-old boy, Boluwatife Babatunde, who went missing at a Prayer Mountain, CAC Ori-Oke Ayo in Ikoyi, Isokan Local Government Council Area of Osun state.

Police commissioner Fimihan lamented that the father of the boy, Olanrewaju Babatunde, raised false alarm that his son was kidnapped by the administrators of the prayer mountain and some individuals who came to pray at the prayer mountain.

Adeoye explained that investigation by the police revealed that the parents of the boy were careless and that the boy went into the bush while looking for his mother.

He lamented that the father of the boy gave misleading and confusing information about his son and cause panic in the state.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Apomun Division, Mr Sani Muhammed handed over the boy to his parents in Osogbo on behalf of the CP.

The father complained his son’s stomach and legs were swollen, insisting something must have been done to him in the period he was missing.

On police request, doctors examined the boy and declared the swelling is recent nor did they occur in the period he was missing.

Speaking on the development, one of the clerics at the prayer mountain, Pastor Olusanya Alalade expressed worry that the father of the boy was making contradictory statement and called on the police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
